In an hour, Total War Saga: Troy was downloaded from the Epic Games Store 1 million times
The new Creative Assembly game is selling like hot cakes. During the first hour of the free distribution, it was downloaded 1 million times.
This became known from the official Twitter of the franchise. The authors of the game thanked the audience and hurried those who have not yet downloaded Total War Saga: Troy – they have less than a day left to get the novelty for free.
Back in early June, the British studio announced the release of a new strategy in the Epic Games Store. They announced that Total War Saga: Troy will be a temporary exclusive of Epic Games and will only appear on other platforms in a year. As compensation, Creative Assembly promised that within 24 hours from the moment of release in the Epic Games store, the game will be distributed for free and after that it will remain in the library forever.
“We don’t want to limit ourselves to Steam,” the studio wrote in a blog post. “The deal with Epic Games gives us a great way to try out other platforms and understand what is suitable and what is not. There is no risk for you here, because everyone who leaves a request in the first 24 hours will receive the game for free.”
The distribution of the Creative Assembly strategy will end today at 16:00 Moscow time.
Total War Saga: Troy is the fourteenth part of the Total War series. Its plot is inspired by Homer’s Iliad and is built around the events of the Trojan War. Players will meet mythical characters and legendary heroes like Achilles and Odysseus.
