Diabloid Pagan Online from Wargaming failed as a Multiplayer game

Support for Pagan Online as a multiplayer game turned out to be unprofitable. The publisher of Wargaming decided to leave only the singleplayer in the project and sell it only on Steam.

On August 4, Wargaming and developer Mad Head Games will disable the multiplayer servers of their game inspired by Diablo III. As the publisher explains: “Unfortunately, over the past year it has become clear that supporting Pagan Online as a multiplayer game is unprofitable.”

From today, the title will disappear from the store Wargaming.net . At the time of its acquisition, it will also be closed on Steam. After the release of the patch, which will make the game entirely single-player, Pagan Online will again be available to buy in the Valve store.

The players who launched Pagan Online will also be redirected there via Wargaming.net .

The game was released in early access on PC in April 2019. The project was completed in 15 months. Before that, its creators from Mad Head Games were engaged only in casual games.

“In a little over a year, we have created a decent foundation that will give a clear idea of our intentions. We want to develop this foundation by adding what the players need,” the team stated. At the same time, over the past year, players have complained about the lack of progress, boring gameplay and the studio’s unwillingness to fix bugs.

It should be noted that now the flow of negative reviews has sharply increased on Steam due to the fact that the project with the word “Online” in the name will be made an offline game.
