German users spent $6.7 billion on gaming products last year
The revenue of the gaming industry in Germany rose to $6.7 billion in 2019. The local market earned 6% more than in 2018.
These are the figures from the report of the German company Game. The data was provided to her by the analytical services App Annie and GfK.
- Total turnover — $6.7 billion (increased by 6%).
- Sales of iron — $2.6 billion (fell by 2%).
- Video game sales — $4.2 billion (increased by 11%).
At the same time , the shares in software sales were distributed as follows:
- the industry earned the largest amount on the sale of in-game content (DLC, microtransactions, season passes). In 2019, players spent $2.4 billion on all this – 16% more than a year earlier;
- sales of the games themselves decreased slightly to $1.1 billion (by 3% year-on-year). Subscription revenues fell more seriously – by 10% to $1.2 billion;
- gaming services, including cloud services (Xbox Live Gold, PlayStation Plus and Now, Google Stadia, etc.), have earned almost half a billion dollars. This is 31% more than in 2018.
