Nordisk Film Games has become the largest shareholder of the Finnish Nitro Games, having invested $4.5 million in it
Danish film company Nordisk Film is investing in games again. Its gaming division has invested $4.5 million in mobile Nitro Games. Now Nordisk Film is the largest shareholder of the Finnish studio.
Nitro Games is the developer of titles such as Raids of Glory (rethinking Clash of Clans) and Medals of War. Recently, the studio has focused on shooters, and it wants to direct the investment from Nordisk Film Games to create games in this genre.
Nordisk Film purposefully invests in gaming companies. Among its assets are MMO studios Reto-Moto, Star Stable. In addition, two years ago it absorbed Avalanche Studios. In addition to investing in game development, Nordisk Film produces films, cartoons and TV shows, and also operates cinemas in Norway and Denmark.
