The British swept 1 million boxes of video games off the shelves in three weeks of quarantine
In the UK, sales of physical copies of games have risen in three weeks. During this time, British players have bought more than 1 million boxes, despite the quarantine for coronavirus.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Before the introduction of self-isolation and the mass closure of retailers, 150 thousand boxes were sold weekly in the country.
But from March 29 to April 4, 350 thousand copies were sold (3% more than a week earlier).
The main game of British retail over these seven days turned out to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This may be due to the recent release of the battle royale CoD: Warzone, which is presented in Modern Warfare as a separate mode.
On the second line of the rating is the new Resident Evil 3: Remake. Things are going worse for her than last year’s remake of Resident Evil 2. The new game is selling twice as slowly in the UK. And note that Resident Evil 2 managed to top the chart last year.
Resident Evil 3: Remake
In addition, Switch is an Animal Crossing phenomenon:
New Horizon, which beat DOOM Eternal in popularity, fell back to 4th place last week. Title sales in weekly terms fell by 35%
