The audience of the Kalibr team shooter from Wargaming in the CIS has reached 1 million players
Wargaming is ready to deploy its tactical shooter Caliber in Europe. In the CIS countries, the game has already gained more than a million users.
The open beta testing of the game in the CIS countries started in October. To date, its audience has exceeded 1 million users, according to the German portal 4players with reference to the developer 1C Game Studios. Testing allowed the developers, in their own words, “to gain the necessary experience to launch in Europe.”
Three days later, on February 28, the latest version of the shooter will be brought to Poland for the IEM Expo exhibition. In the meantime, European players can start registering for a closed beta test.
Caliber (“Caliber”) is a joint project of the publisher World of Tanks and developer 1C Game Studios on the Unity engine. This is a third-person MMO free-play game about special forces with team battles and a great emphasis on tactics. It presents real-life weapons from the Kalashnikov and Lobaev Arms concerns, which cooperate with the authors of the game.
The developers call the audience of their project mainly men. As the creative producer of the project Albert Zhiltsov said: “We want to make a game that adult men would not be ashamed to discuss loudly in a bar. Men can discuss fighters, weapons, tactics. But hardly fairies with glowing wings.”
1C Game Studios — 1C gaming division. His portfolio includes tactical King’s Bounty II and Men of War II: Arena. In addition to Caliber, the studio has two more unannounced fritupley projects in development.
