There are 480 million registered players in Minecraft
Minecraft‘s audience has reached 480 million users. Most of the user accounts are registered in China.
Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad reported on the latest achievements of the sandbox game.
The audience of the title was distributed as follows:
- There are 300 million accounts registered in the Chinese freeplay version of Minecraft;
- Outside of China, the game has sold 180 million copies.
This data may be enough to call Minecraft the most popular game in the world, writes PCGamesN.
Ahmad gave other figures.
- In two years, Chinese users have played a total of 146 million hours in Minecraft. This is about 400 thousand years of game time.
- The title has noticeably increased the global MAU. It has reached 112 million players. In the spring, the figure was 91 million. This is despite the fact that in March the increase in MAU amounted to 17 million people for the year.
Minecraft is a project of Mojang AB studio. It was released in 2011. Three years later, both the studio and the title were sold to Microsoft.
