Fortnite won't be the same anymore. What has changed in "Chapter 2"?

Fortnite was unavailable to players for two days. In such an original way, Epic Games furnished the largest update of the battle royale – “Fortnite: Chapter 2”. At the same time, the number of mechanics has expanded and the battle pass system has changed.

Users returned to Fortnite a few hours ago and found that the game had changed a lot. In fact, Epic Games has rebooted its title, changing both the desktop and mobile versions.

  • The map was replaced with a completely new island (players cannot return to the locations of “Chapter 1”).
  • Added new activities and mechanics: fishing, swimming, swimming facilities that diversify combat situations.

  • Separately, it is necessary to note the updated battle pass. Now players earn experience points to advance through the shooting range on game actions. That is, you can increase the level of the “combat pass” by opening chests, destroying opponents, etc., and not only by completing special quests.
  • At the same time, Epic Games adjusted the cost of in-game currency (In-bucks) for different regions.

  • The season counter was also reset to zero, so Season 1 started again in “Chapter 2”.

Recall that for dozens of hours Fortnite was a black screen with an exit button. The restart of the game, according to The Verge, was uneven: the servers did not respond for about two hours. Now the problems have been resolved. In addition, all Fortnite accounts in social networks have returned to their usual appearance.

As a result, the event “Black Hole” gave the “epics” two opportunities. They presented their big update in a very unusual way, and also attracted the attention of millions of viewers on streaming sites. The latter is important, since during the final seasons of “Chapter 1” Fortnite failed to keep the interest of the audience. We talked about this in more detail here.
