In Russia, two gaming cloud services were introduced in one day
Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom and Nvidia have developed their own solutions for cloud gaming. Both services were introduced today.
Beeline Gaming
Vimpelcom (owner of the Beeline brand) announced the Beeline Gaming streaming platform.
The novelty was demonstrated at the Igromir festival by George Held, Vice President of Vimpelcom for New and Digital business.
The price for a monthly subscription will reach 990 rubles, Vedomosti reports. At the start, Beeline Gaming will have 500 titles. Subsequently, the library of games will increase to 2500.
There will be two ways to use the service:
- through a special set-top box for TV. It will be possible to purchase it only in Moscow and Krasnodar for 9900 rubles. It will be on sale in October. Beeline Gaming itself and the subscription option will probably open at the same time. Note that the buyers of the set-top box will also have access to Beeline-TV;
- through a special desktop application. It will work with a Windows-based PC and at an Internet speed of at least 30 Mbps. The app itself will be free. It will be launched “in the near future”.
The project partners were MY.GAMES, Buka and META Publishing. In addition, a Mastercard credit card for gamers will be linked to the platform.
GeForce Now
Nvidia presented another cloud service to Russian users with the participation of Safmar. The GeForce Now platform is available from today.
Access to it will cost players 999 rubles. The beta version of GeForce Now features an assortment of 400 games. It is unknown how many there will be at the time of the official launch.
It is noted that through the Nvidia service, you can run games from large stores. But not titles from Origin and Microsoft Store, writes vc.ru .
Two more points. You can run various games via GeForce Now only from a desktop (Windows or Mac). Plus, the creators of the service promise a comfortable game with low latency only in Moscow and within 500 km from it. To play in 720p resolution with 60 FPS, you will need an Internet speed of 15 Mbit/s
Both announcements were made against the background of the imminent launch of cloud platforms from leading companies such as Google and Microsoft.
