The authors of Gears of War have opened a studio in New York. It employs people from Avalanche, Activision and Eidos Montreal
A new studio of People Can Fly, the developers of Gears of War and Bulletstorm, has opened in New York. This is the first division of the company in the USA.
The new studio will be led by former Avalanche executive producer David Grijns. The executive producer of People Can Fly New York will be Roland Lesterlin. Both were co-founders of Defiant Studios, writes Gamasutra.
The staff of People Can Fly in New York has 30 people. Among them there are people from Avalanche, Activision Blizzard, Ninja Theory and Eidos Montreal.
Thus, People Can Fly has expanded to four divisions. In addition to the office in the USA, she has studios in Warsaw and Rzeszow, Poland, as well as in Newcastle (UK). The studio became independent, separating from Epic Games in 2015, and has been actively developing since then.
Now the company is developing several titles for Gears of War, as well as a certain AAA project together with Square Enix, on which the New York branch will work. It will be a game for consoles and PC, but there is no other information about it.
