Apex Legends has lost 75% of views on Twitch since its launch

Apex Legends had a very high-profile launch. And the project got off to a great start. However, the publisher of the game Electronic Arts has not shared the indicators of the game for a long time. And they could have fallen decently.

This is evidenced by the decline in the popularity of Apex Legends on Twitch. According to the assessment of Stream Hatcher and Stream Elements, the weekly views of the game fell by 75% from February to March.

If in February, during the peak week, viewers watched a total of 40 million hours of the game (a record figure in the history of games), then exactly a month later this parameter fell to 10 million hours.

The popularity of Apex Legends in February was reflected in Fortnite views.

For the latter, for the first time, the monthly number of views fell below 100 million. However, by March, the situation had normalized — the Epic Games game returned to its previous level.

The general trend of falling Apex Legends indicators is confirmed by the GitHyp service, which also tracks the popularity of games on Twitch. If the average online views of Apex Legends in February reached 300 thousand, then in March it was already about 50 thousand. And, by the way, in April the fall remained. Now on Twitch, the average online game is 30 thousand. However, these are still very large numbers that allow the game to be in the top ten most popular games on Twitch.

The network, in turn, says that the reason for the drop in the game’s performance could be the unpreparedness of both Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment for the crazy success of the game, as well as the lack of experience in operating such projects.

They say that before the release, you need to prepare content for a couple of months in advance in order to regularly release updates, and not pull with them, as is the case with Apex Legends.
