Wargaming has invested in the cloud streaming service Polystream

Wargaming Group has shown interest in developments in the field of streaming streaming. The company has funded the tech startup Polystream, which is looking for new ways to stream games.

The Belarusian company led the latest round of financing along with Intel Capital, Lauder Partners and London Venture Partners. The total investment amount, according to CrunchBase, was $12 million. This money will be used for the expansion of the staff, development and marketing campaign of Polystream. How much Wargaming has invested specifically is not specified.

Polystream promises to introduce a new approach for streaming graphics in the cloud. In the past, as PC Games Insider writes, Wargaming was not interested in anything like this.

Audiences around the world crave instant transmission of the most colorful and complex graphic content. The current approach to deploying GPU in the cloud and transmitting compressed video in the case of games and other high—performance applications is very expensive and simply does not scale. That is why things are most difficult with cloud gaming

We should add that recently Wargaming announced the development of a “new generation shooter” together with a little-known Kiev studio.
