The Wall Street Journal: Two new Nintendo Switch models will go on sale in the summer
Next summer, Nintendo will offer gamers two new versions of Switch. Sources familiar with the company’s plans told The Wall Street Journal about this.
Among the sources are suppliers of spare parts and software that have access to prototypes of the updated Switch. According to them, Nintendo wants to spur demand for its console.
According to media reports, the new versions of Switch will be aimed at different audiences.
- The first one is intended for avid players. It will receive an expanded set of functions. But in terms of power, it will still be inferior to the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
- The second one is suitable for casual players. Some of the functions (for example, vibration of the controller) will be missing in it. But it will be cheaper than the first one. Nintendo sees it as a replacement for the outdated 3DS.
According to sources, both versions will be presented at the June E3 2019. In a few more months they will be on sale. The company itself did not comment on this information.
