Activision and Tencent have introduced a mobile Call of Duty for the Western market

At the Unity panel within the framework of GDC 2019, Activision and Tencent announced a free-duplex Call of Duty Mobile for Europe and the USA. Initially, the game was developed only for China. It was not reported that it could be released in other regions.

The fact that Activision and Tencent are jointly developing a mobile Call of Duty became known in August last year. Before GDC 2019, the game was called Call of Duty: Legends of War. In December, she was given a softlonch in China and Australia, writes Pocket Gamer.

The “daughter” of Tencent — Timi is responsible for the creation of the title. Development was on Unity. According to the authors of Call of Duty Mobile, this engine made it possible to achieve graphics and performance, as in games for consoles of the previous generation. At the same time, publishers promise to adapt the game to a wide range of mobile devices.

Timi has placed maps and characters that have already appeared in other franchise games in Call of Duty Mobile. There will be several modes at the start, such as deathmatch for teams of five players, search and destroy, free-for-all. Over time, new modes will appear in the game. There is a possibility that one of them will be the “battle royale”.

Call of Duty Mobile is designed for Android and iOS devices. Pre-registration in Google Play has already opened. An open beta test of the game will begin this summer.
