The GDC 2019 Game Developers Conference kicked off today in San Francisco. Google has timed an extensive program for the event. As part of the first day of this program, Google Mobile Developer Day is being held. On it, the company made several small, but important announcements for mobile game developers.
- Pre-registration has become available to everyone. Now any team can start a marketing campaign of the game before its immediate launch;
- The limit on the size of the APK has been increased by a third — up to 150 megabytes;
- It is now possible to launch a game with an Instant version directly from the store listing.
Playlists were announced as part of the presentation regarding Google Play Instant updates. The essence of the new feature is the ability to swipe Instant games by analogy with the instant transition from one musical composition to another in the player.
Google also announced that now creating an Instant version of a game of any complexity is a matter of several hours or even minutes, thanks to the appearance of AppOnboard Studio. Recall that a year ago it was about working for months.
