In its debut week, Anthem sold worse than Destiny 2 and Fallout 76 (updated)
Anthem’s release sales in the UK were compared with the starting results of other famous titles. The figures clearly demonstrate how small the success of the new game from BioWare is.
So far, there is no question of Anthem reaching out to colleagues in the genre. It is inferior in retail sales in the first week to both The Division and the Destiny franchise.
Compared to Anthem, even the infamous Fallout 76 sold twice as many copies at the start. Users called the game from Bethesda raw, not ready for release — and the same is said about the BioWare game.
Release sales of games in the UK, according to estimates by ResetEra users:
- The Division — 277 thousand copies;
- Destiny 2 — 175 thousand copies;
- Fallout 76 — 85 thousand copies;
- Anthem — 42 thousand copies.
Note that the comparison is not the most correct. All of these games, except Anthem, were released on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Anthem was released on Friday. It was on sale for less days than The Division, Borderlands 2, etc.
Anthem also sold out in the Foggy Albion half as bad as Mass Effect: Andromeda. The last one, released in 2017 (by the way, on Thursday), was seriously scandalized. And hardly anyone could have imagined then that BioWare would break its own anti-record: it would release a game whose ratings and sales would be even lower than Andromeda’s.
Let’s add yesterday App2Top.ru I analyzed the reviews of the press and players on Anthem, and predicted further sales of the title.
