Jam City and popular franchises
Jam City is already famous for several games on popular IP. This year she released the mobile RPG Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. In addition, she has projects on the animated series Family Guy and Futurama. The success of the above-mentioned titles allowed the studio to increase its staff to 650 employees and think about expanding its field of activity.

Disney and game Developers
In 2016, Disney announced that it would no longer develop games on its own, but would delegate it to companies specializing in creating game titles. The corporation has dissolved the Avalanche studio (many of the dismissed 250 people now work for Warner Bros.). In addition, both parts of Marvel: Avengers Alliance have disappeared from the stores, since the publisher of the series, Activision, has run out of license. And last year, Disney closed the Marvel Heroes servers from Gazillion Entertainment, cooperation with which was terminated.

So, Disney’s gaming direction was revised, and in early 2018, the company began improving its gaming strategy with partnerships with mobile studios Ludia, Glu, Gameloft and PerBlue.
Each of these companies is working on unnamed games based on Disney franchises. And now it’s Jam City’s turn.
The deal is a win-win for both sides. Jam City gets access to the most popular IP addresses in the world, and Disney can be sure that these IP addresses have fallen into the hands of experts.
