Announcements
King announced the imminent release of the new Candy Crush
Replenishment in the candy kingdom. King has announced Candy Crush Friends Saga, a new game in its match3 franchise. The launch of the project is scheduled for October 11. Unlike its predecessors, the novelty has a lot of three—dimensional graphics, and there is also a new mechanic – a character who issues optional tasks at the level. By the way, the game has been in softlonch since May 2017.

Over the past 12 months, 1,000 people have been laid off from major game studios alone
Our colleagues from PC Gamer estimated that from October last year to September this year, at least one thousand game developers lost their places in the industry. With the closure of Gazillion Entertainment alone, 200 people lost their jobs, with the abolition of Wargaming Seattle, 150 people left, and the end of Boss Key Productions doomed 60 employees to search for new places. The full list of losses is here.

INSOMNIA: The Ark was released
After nine years of development, INSOMNIA: The Ark was released on Steam. The game, judging by what we managed to see, gives the impression of a very beautiful and stylish mix of Fallout and Dark Souls in a retrofutristic setting. The Samara project Studio MONO is the fourth role—playing release this week from domestic developers. A little earlier came out: Pathfinder, Deep Sky Derelicts and Niffelheim.
