Evening Digest: Pathfinder Release and League of Legends Revenue Drop
Business news (and not only) of the gaming industry for September 25.
Releases
The old-school isometric role-playing game Pathfinder: Kingmaker from Mail.Ru Group
Pathfinder has a unique history for Russian game dev. Firstly, this is a premium PC project from Mail.Ru Group. Secondly, he collected about $900 thousand for development on Kickstarter. Thirdly, it is published by the German Deep Silver (and a press release about the publication of the game is sent by Buka). Plus, it was created under a Western gaming license and with the participation of Chris Avellon, designer of Planescape: Torment and Fallout 2. Individually, these facts are not surprising, but together they are a completely different matter. We don’t know yet what happened to the developers, whose core team is formed from veterans of the Allods Team, but we are very intrigued.

League of Legends has problems
The world’s highest-grossing game is losing revenue. According to Superdata in its latest report (details tomorrow in a separate publication), according to the results of the past nine months of 2018, Riot Games shows the worst result since 2014. The project’s revenues fell by 21% compared to the same period a year earlier. What caused this, analysts do not explain.
