A major update brought players back to No Man's Sky
It seems that the new update of the indie adventure No Man’s Sky has brought the game back to life. Having lost almost the entire audience, the game returned to the top 10 popular titles on Steam.
The release of No Man’s Sky in 2016 was one of the biggest failures in the industry. The promoted game turned out to be incomplete and did not meet the inflated expectations of the players. 99% of the audience left the game, and it seemed that Hello Games studio would not be able to do anything about it.
Now, two years later, the game has started to attract the audience back. The new update NEXT, released last week, is very well received.
Most of the user reviews on No Man’s Sky on Steam were negative, but after the update, the game receives mostly praise from gamers.
According to GitHyp, over the past day, the peak simultaneous audience of the game has reached 97 thousand players. Before the update, about one thousand users played in No Man’s Sky at the same time.

The update turned out to be large-scale: new content, fixed optimization, updated base construction system, improved graphics.
But the main thing is that the long-promised multiplayer for four people has been added to the game. It was the latter factor that returned the public’s interest in the title.
Now it is important for developers not to lose the returned trust of the audience and fix the remaining problems, in particular weak AI and unstable operation of the game.
