PUBG developers have started buying game studios
Bluehole has acquired Korean developer Delusion Studio. What attracted the authors of the hit PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to a small studio without an impressive portfolio is still unclear.
According to AppAnnie, Delusion Studio has been operating on the market since 2011. Among her titles are several games for children (Chiro’s Home, Cocomong’s Lab, Loopy the Cook), the puzzle House of Mice and the strategy Castle Burn RTS Revolution. The latter has a good rating on Google Play (4.6), but the number of installations in the region of 100 thousand cannot be called something phenomenal for the mobile market.
Details of the transaction are not disclosed. Meanwhile, the Chinese giant Tencent is interested in Bluehole itself. According to The Wall Street Journal, Tencent is going to buy 10% of the company for more than $500 million. In May, Korean media reported that a Chinese corporation bought 1.5% of Bluehole last year, but so far there is no official confirmation of this information.
