Lineage M earned $1.2 billion in the first year
The revenues of the mobile role-playing MMO game Lineage M from South Korean NCsoft exceeded $ 1.2 billion in the first year of its existence. This is reported by the business publication The Investor.
According to him, Lineage M has also become the most downloaded app in the App Store and Google Play in a number of countries, including South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. It should be noted that the title has achieved such indicators of income and popularity without going beyond the Asia-Pacific region.
The official release of the game in South Korea took place on June 21, 2017. Lineage M showed a strong start, earning $233 million in the first month of sales. Title revenues generated a significant portion of NCsoft’s revenue from mobile in 2017, which amounted to $894.7 million.
NCsoft CEO Kim Taek-jin said that the company is now preparing for the global release of Lineage M and is simultaneously developing a new version of the title, which he will talk about soon. He added that the new franchise game will first be released in Japan, and then will be published in North America and China.
