The creators of the Critical Ops mobile shooter have raised $6.3 million for the development of the esports direction
The Finnish Critical Force has received $6.3 million in investments, which will be invested in the company’s flagship project — the Critical Ops mobile shooter with competitive gameplay. The developers call the development of the game as an esports discipline with official tournaments and competitions their priority.
Critical Force received funds from the local grant organization Business Finland. The funding will also go towards the creation and launch of a “scalable automated production platform” that will help Critical Ops develop and test games.
“Thanks to the investments, we will be able to show that we have really become one of the leading manufacturers of esports games for mobile,” said Veli—Pekka Piirainen, CEO of Critical Force.
To date, Critical Ops has gained more than 40 million downloads worldwide. On June 24 this year, the creators of the game will hold an official Critical Ops tournament in Seattle with a prize pool of $ 40 thousand.
