2 million people played Sea of Thieves in the first week
An action adventure with cooperative gameplay Sea of Thieves gathered more than 2 million gamers during the launch week. Half of this number played in the new Rare and Microsoft project on the day of the game’s release on March 20, according to the Xbox news service.
Microsoft named Sea of Thieves the fastest—selling new title since the launch of Xbox One, as well as the best-selling game from Microsoft Studios for Windows 10.
At the same time, Microsoft does not specify exactly how many copies of Sea of Thieves have been sold to date, and whether the publisher takes into account copies distributed through a paid Xbox Live subscription.
The company also reported that since the launch of Sea of Thieves, more than 100 thousand players have conducted gameplay streams, and more than 500 thousand gamers have become friends on the Xbox Live platform after joint pirate adventures.
