Wargame Creators Strike against Labor Rights Violations

Half of the employees of the French studio Eugen Systems went on strike. The developers accused the company’s managers of violating labor laws. 21 out of 44 Eugen Systems employees joined the campaign.

The protesters sent an open letter to the trade union of French video game developers Le Syndicat des Travailleurs et Travailleuses du Jeu Vidéo.

It claims that the management of Eugen Systems does not pay employees for overtime, does not enter into contracts with some employees and assigns salaries below the minimum level.

The compilers of the letter reported that the conflict with the management of the company has been going on for 15 months. During the first six months, the demands of Eugen Systems employees were simply ignored, and they even had to hire a lawyer.

The management of Eugen Systems published a statement in which it acknowledged the recent delay in the salaries of its employees. The company explained these problems with the latest legislative reforms.

Eugen Systems is known as a developer of real-time strategies. Among them are the game series Act of War and Wargame.
