Browser Farm Developer Earned $1 Billion in 8 Years
While some are looking for new ways of game monetization, others continue to earn steadily on midcore games. The revenues of the German studio Goodgame Studios have crossed the $1 billion mark since the company was founded in 2009.
Goodgames profile — midcore games for the browser and mobile. The studio’s biggest titles are the Big Farm social farm simulator and the Empire MMO strategy.
To date, 340 million users have registered in Goodgame Studios games.
Throughout its existence, Goodgame Studios has earned an average of $250 million a year. Last year, the company suffered losses, but by 2017 it managed to turn a profit after restructuring, during which 600 employees had to be laid off.
The latest release of the studio was the mobile version of Big Farm: Mobile Harvest, which was downloaded over 2 million times in the first month after the release.
