In Japan, almost 370 thousand SNES Mini were sold in 4 days

Sales of Nintendo’s retro SNES Mini console in Japan in the first four days after the release reached 368.9 thousand copies, the Famitsu edition reports.

The SNES Mini was released on the local market on October 5 — 6 days later than in other regions.

The total sales figures of the SNES Mini around the world are still unknown, but the hype demand has already led to the depletion of stocks of consoles in the warehouses of retailers, including the official representative offices of Nintendo itself.

Along with this, offers from speculators hoping to sell a retro console at almost twice the retail price appeared on the Ebay online auction and other trading platforms.

The average price tag of resellers is about $150, while the official retail price is $80.

Earlier, the same situation developed around the NES mini console, which quickly became a shortage due to limited release. Nintendo urged customers not to buy consoles with their hands at an inflated cost.
