Level Ex raised $11 million to develop a mobile surgeon simulator
The American studio Level Ex has raised $11 million in investments for the further development of realistic surgical simulators.
Prior to the investment round “A”, the studio released the Airway Ex mobile application simulating an examination of the respiratory tract. The iOS version of Airway Ex has augmented reality support through the ARKit framework.
“We will direct the funds received to the development of our mobile applications, as mobile devices have become one of the most convenient and affordable tools for training professional skills for doctors,” said Sam Glassenberg, CEO of Level Ex.
Medical scenarios of the new applications will include operations on the heart and organs of the gastrointestinal tract.
The creators of Airway Ex were advised by doctors to make the simulator an informative and useful simulator for novice doctors. According to the developers, the doctors themselves were satisfied with the level of realism in the finished application.
