Ubisoft to increase presence in China and Russia
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot told Bloomberg about his intention to move into the markets of China, Russia and the Asian region as a whole.
The greatest interest for the French company is China as the largest national gaming market in the world. Ubisoft wants to make China the second largest marketplace for its games and services.
Ubisoft has already entered into a partnership with Chinese companies Tencent and Playcrab. They jointly developed and published a mobile game based on the Might & Magic franchise in China.
In addition, Guillemot listed new industries that are waiting for development prospects in the coming years: cloud gaming, AR, VR and artificial intelligence. According to the businessman, the gaming industry can grow by 15-20% in a few years.
