The creator of The Last of Us and Uncharted has left Naughty Dog
The director of the projects of The Last of Us and two games of the Uncharted series, Bruce Straley, left the Naughty Dog studio, where he had worked since 1999.
In his farewell message, Strali admitted that leaving the studio was “the most difficult decision in his career”, and he leaves his colleagues with a heavy heart.
But after 18 years of hard work, Bruce realized that he wanted to direct his efforts to something else besides video game development. He did not disclose his future plans, saying only that it was related to creativity and that he would talk about them a little later.
Bruce Straley was one of Naughty Dog’s oldest employees. According to him, he came to the studio “before there was a coffee maker in it.”
At first he worked as a game artist on the titles Crash Team Racing and Jack and Dexter.
Later, Strali led the development of Uncharted: Among Thieves, Uncharted: A Thief’s End, The Last of Us and The Last of Us: Left Behind.
