The record earnings of Pokémon GO are associated with the appearance of new legendary Pokemon in the game, which players can track down and try to catch.
Unlike regular Pokemon, the legendary creature can only be defeated and captured by a team of gamers.
Spending after the last update in Pokémon GO exceeded the players’ spending on all previous additions, including second-generation Pokemon and a redesigned system of gims (platforms where players can arrange duels of pocket monsters).
Currently, the game leads in revenue among iOS apps in 23 countries, including the USA, Canada, France, Germany and the UK.
