The Russian game project collected almost $1 million in a month
Russian developers from a company owned by Mail.Ru Owlcat Games studios have raised more than $900,000 on the Kickstarter platform to create a Pathfinder: Kingmaker role-playing game.
Their fundraising campaign became a record among Russian Kickstarter projects in the entire history of the crowdfunding service and exceeded the initial goal of $ 500 thousand almost twice.
The money collected was enough to work on the game and achieve a number of additional goals that will introduce new game classes and gameplay elements into Kingmaker.
“The initial goal of the campaign of $500 thousand was achieved in 2 weeks of the campaign. We were extremely pleased with such support, but we could not even imagine that by the end of the month this amount would increase to $ 900 thousand! This campaign was a great opportunity to communicate with the players and find out what kind of game they would like to get,” said Oleg Shpilchevsky, head of Owlcat Games studio.
Together with our compatriots, screenwriter Chris Avellon is working on the project, who created stories for Fallout, Baldur’s Gate, Planescape Torment and other classic role-playing adventures.
