PlayStation Now subscriber base has expanded to 700 thousand people
The PlayStation Now streaming service has overcome another milestone. The number of his subscribers exceeded 700 thousand.
From Sony’s financial report, it became known that the PlayStation Now user base is growing by 40% per year. It took him about five years to recruit an audience of 700 thousand subscribers.
Now the cloud service contains more than 750 games for PS2, PS3 and PS4. Its subscribers can not only play them in the cloud, but also download many of them to their consoles and PCs. Moreover, the second possibility interests them more than the first. According to Gamasutra, players spend twice as much time in downloaded games as in games streamed from Sony servers.
The ability to download the title from PlayStation Now did not appear immediately. Initially, the service was focused only on streaming.
To get access to the library of games, the user must choose to choose one of three types of subscription: for a month, for 3 months and for a year. The monthly fee here is 500 rubles.
Let’s add that PlayStation Now doesn’t have many competitors right now. The cloud streaming market is not oversaturated. But recently it became known that Google is preparing to release the Stadia service, as well as Microsoft and Amazon are developing their own streaming platforms. With the advent of so many competitors, the PS Now user base may thin out.
