Apple will start requesting permission for targeted advertising in its services on iOS 15
Apple has decided to equalize itself with other developers. In iOS 15, it will ask users for permission to access personal data that is used for targeted advertising in the App Store and Apple News.

Previously, Apple collected all the necessary data by default. Users could forbid her to do this, but this possibility was hidden in the settings.
A pop-up with a request to collect personal information will appear when you open the App Store. Portal 9to5mac published a screenshot of the notification, on which Apple wrote that targeted advertising helps to find suitable applications, products and services. At the same time, it “protects privacy through the use of identifiers that are generated on the device and do not link advertising information to the Apple ID.”
Apple’s initiative may be related to an antitrust lawsuit against the company in France. In it, the French complained that iOS users are not well informed about the tracking of personal data and their use for targeting in Apple’s own services.
Recall that back in April, Apple banned third-party developers from tracking such information without the user’s consent. Starting with the release of iOS 14.5, developers had to make similar pop-ups with a request for access to the IDFA advertising identifier. However, this innovation did not concern Apple itself.
