Facebook lifted the ban on advertising crypto games

Now the developers of crypto games will be able to attract an audience again using Facebook – the social network has lifted the ban on advertising cryptocurrencies and related products on the social network.

The ban was introduced in January. Facebook considered cryptocurrency advertisements to promote “financial products or services, often associated with misleading or deceptive promotion methods.”

The social network did this because of the large amount of advertising of fraudulent ICOs (initial token placements), Sergey Kopov, the founder of the 0xGames studio, told App2Top.

“They didn’t understand and didn’t want to figure out who was good and who was bad. Later, Twitter and Google followed their example,” he noted.

Since June 26, these rules have changed. Now Facebook is ready to skip advertisements if they pass moderation. Owners of the relevant products or services need to submit a special application.

“Apparently, the Facebook moderator team has developed internal rules and is now ready to consider requests from companies to be added to the white list. ICOs are still banned, but projects with a more transparent business model should be allowed. This is a big holiday for crypto games. Access to high–quality and relatively inexpensive traffic will increase the audience, and this is now one of the main problems of the emerging market,” explained Sergey Kopov.
