Embracer Report: Kingdom Come 2 sales approached 2 million copies, debt to creditors fell by five times
Embracer Group released a report detailing its earnings for October-December 2024. It also revealed current sales figures for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and shared the performance of other games.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
Embracer Group's Financial Performance:
- Compared to 2023, Embracer Group's quarterly revenue dropped by 3% to 7.36 billion SEK ($678.3 million);
- For the first time in a year and a half, Embracer Group posted a quarterly profit with a net income of 997 million SEK ($91.8 million);
- The largest segment for Embracer Group was entertainment and services not directly related to gaming — 3 billion SEK ($284.8 million, +19%). Console and PC games followed — 2.6 billion SEK ($239.7 million, -23%). Mobile games rounded out the top three — 1.6 billion SEK ($153.7 million, +2%).
- Embracer Group's net debt to creditors decreased fivefold over the year, amounting to 3.2 billion SEK ($296.1 million) at the end of 2024.
Embracer Group's Game Data:
- New console and PC games earned half as much for the quarter as they did a year earlier, totaling 235 million SEK ($21.6 million);
- The most successful new console and PC releases from October-December 2024 were Let’s Sing 2025, Metro Awakening VR, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, and Goat Simulator Remastered;
- Embracer Group noted that the remaster of the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver duology exceeded expectations slightly, while the VR version of Metro Awakening sold less than expected;
- Revenue from previously released console and PC games fell by 14% to 1.78 billion SEK ($164 million). This is partly due to the sale of Saber Interactive and Gearbox Entertainment;
- Released on February 4, 2025, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has significantly exceeded Embracer Group's expectations. Its sales are soon expected to reach 2 million copies. Embracer Group is confident that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will continue to be profitable for several more years;
- Quarterly downloads of Embracer Group's mobile games reached 254 million, which is 4 million less than a year ago. The overall MAU and DAU of titles fell to 210 million and 26 million users, respectively.
