The Fair Trade Commission of South Korea suspects that KRAFTON may be violating a law requiring developers to disclose the probability of obtaining valuable items from loot boxes in their games. The agency has launched an investigation into the company.

A KRAFTON representative told the Korean portal GameMeca that the commission will review the company's activities as a whole, rather than focus on specific games. KRAFTON plans to cooperate with the commission and participate in the investigation in good faith.

It is also reported that the commission has started a similar investigation into Com2uS, known for the Summoners War game series.

Over the past two months, South Korean authorities have identified a total of 150 violations related to loot boxes. Specifically, the commission fined Nexon 11.6 billion won ($8.9 million) for incorrect information about loot boxes in MapleStory.
