CD Projekt has settled a class action lawsuit from investors. The company will pay them less than $2 million

CD Projekt managed to reach an agreement with investors on the settlement of a class action lawsuit related to the problematic release of Cyberpunk 2077. They will waive all claims against the company and members of the management board, and in return will receive compensation in the amount of $ 1.85 million.CD Projekt announced this in a new report on its official website.

Formally, the settlement agreement was formulated on December 7, and the negotiations themselves ended yesterday. This happened just a few days after it became known about the attempts of the Polish company to settle the class action.

The

amount of $1.85 million will be paid by CD Projekt and the insurance company Colonnade Insurance S.A. How exactly it will be distributed among investors is not reported.

At the same time, the developer of Cyberpunk 2077 explicitly notes that the desire to settle the lawsuit was caused solely by the duration and potential costs associated with the lawsuit in the United States. “The fulfillment of the terms of the agreement does not imply recognition of any liability on the part of the company and other defendants,” CD Projekt said in a statement.

Now the company and investors will have to sign the necessary documents and wait for approval from the court. This process may take several months.

Since the release of Cyberpunk 2077, several class-action lawsuits have been filed against CD Projekt, four of which were later merged into one. The company was accused of releasing a low-quality game from a technical point of view and deliberately misleading investors.
