Apple also confirmed that it perceives the court’s decision as an almost complete victory. Recall that Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers rejected 9 out of 10 claims of Epic Games and ordered the creators of Fortnite to pay Apple 30% of the income received bypassing the App Store commission. At the same time, Tim Cook‘s company must now allow developers to add links to other payment methods to applications.

According to Apple’s comment, at the moment the company is analyzing its rules and thinking about how they can be changed to comply with the judge’s requirement.

Separately, Apple clarified that it has not yet decided what the future holds for Epic Games on iOS in light of new developments. Previously, the company has repeatedly stated that it does not mind returning Fortnite to the App Store if the developers agree to follow the rules.

Proceedings between the companies began in August last year. Then Apple removed Fortnite from the App Store after Epic Games allowed players to make in-app purchases bypassing the Stora payment system. The court sessions were held in May, and the final decision was made on September 10, 2021. Epic Games was dissatisfied with the verdict and has already filed an appeal.
