Rollic bought the rights to the Onnect mobile puzzle for $6 million
Rollic continues to expand its gaming portfolio. The company acquired the rights to the Onnect puzzle by the Turkish developer Chef Game Studio. The purchase amount was $6 million.VentureBeat reports that the deal also provides for an additional payment of $1 million.
The possibility of obtaining it will depend on the fulfillment of the agreed conditions.
Earlier, Rollic, which was bought by Zynga for $168 million this year, acted as the publisher of Onnect. Now the company will get full rights to the game and its further development.Onnect is a puzzle game in which the user needs to clear the playing field in the allotted time by connecting objects in pairs. Rollic herself calls the game design of the game “innovative”.
“We are proud to be part of Turkey’s rapidly expanding gaming community, where developers create outstanding and successful games of any type,” commented Rollic CEO Burak Vardal on the deal.
The Turkish gaming industry is currently on the rise. According to the local Association of Game Developers, there are more than 100 studios registered in the country. Their total revenue for 2019 amounted to $ 1.5 billion, and games from Turkish companies are increasingly entering the charts of the most downloaded free games in the American App Store.
