Zhigarev withdrew the bill banning the sale of devices in Russia without domestic software

It became known from the electronic System for ensuring legislative activity that the deputy from the LDPR party Sergey Zhigarev today withdrew the bill submitted by him to the federal law “On Consumer Rights Protection”.

For now, you can temporarily take a breath: in the near future, the State Duma will not consider the possibility of banning the sale of smartphones without pre-installed Russian programs.

The text of the review sent to the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin can be read here.

We note that now a similar bill is being prepared by the Ministry of Communications. It is going to amend the law on communications.

The introduction and subsequent adoption of any such law may significantly affect the import of smart devices to Russia.
