The development studio TerraTech has laid off some employees

Payload Studios has confirmed that it parted ways with more employees last week. The exact number of layoffs is unknown.

The studio's CEO, Russell Clarke, explained the decision by stating that the studio found itself in a difficult situation after the cancellation of an unnamed project that had been highly anticipated.

"The remaining team will have to be compact. We are a small studio fighting for survival in extremely tough times," Clarke summarized.

He also acknowledged that one of the co-founders of Payload Studios was among those laid off, but did not disclose any names.

According to the portal GamesIndustry, as many as eight people might have been laid off.

In August, Payload reduced its workforce by 25% due to challenging market conditions. Work on updates for TerraTech and TerraTech Worlds has continued unchanged.
