Minimum Studios has been officially acquired by Capcom, establishing it as a subsidiary under the gaming giant's umbrella

Capcom has officially acquired Minimum Studios, turning it into a subsidiary through a purchase of shares.

The animation production company, based in Taiwan, has a track record of collaborating with Capcom on several projects such as Resident Evil Village, the remake of Resident Evil 4, and Dragon's Dogma 2.

Established in 2018, Minimum Studios focuses on keyframe animation and motion capture technology.

"Capcom has opted to convert the studio into a subsidiary to significantly enhance its development and technological strengths," the company stated. "Looking ahead, Capcom will continue to seek out acquisitions of essential technological assets to improve its game development capabilities."

In the previous year, Capcom acquired the support studio Swordcanes, which contributed to the development of Street Fighter 6. Swordcanes has also been involved in producing games like Final Fantasy 16, Hi-Fi Rush, and titles within the Monster Hunter series.
