The company Gameloft continues to downsize. A month after announcing plans to close the Cluj-Napoca office, it parted ways with a "significant portion" of staff at the Toronto office.

Disney Magic Kingdoms

According to GamesIndustry, 49 people lost their jobs. All of them were working on Disney Magic Kingdoms, as Gameloft transferred this game from the Toronto office to its office in Kharkiv. It is reported that the layoffs did not affect only the management, HR department, and programmers.

A Gameloft representative confirmed to GamesIndustry the layoffs. He explained that the company was forced to make this decision due to changing market conditions.

As GamesIndustry writes, this is the third round of layoffs at the Toronto office since the beginning of the year. The first round of layoffs occurred in February, during which Gameloft laid off an unknown number of employees. In April, the second round of layoffs took place, with Gameloft cutting 40 employees.
