Andreessen Horowitz will spend another $600 million on gaming investments

Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, also known as a16z, has raised $7.2 billion for new investments. She has already transferred $600 million of them to the budget of the a16z Games foundation, which deals with gaming companies.

a16z Games positions itself as an early stage fund. He invests in three main areas:

  • studios working on new types of games;
  • the gaming infrastructure for creating next-generation games;
  • gaming services like Discord and Twitch.

"I have worked in the gaming industry for over ten years and I believe that now is the best time to launch a gaming startup. There are more gamers and platforms than ever before. There are also more tools and technologies for development, as well as funds investing in gaming startups," Jonathan Lai, general partner of Andreessen Horowitz, commented on the X increase in the budget of a16z Games.

Andreessen Horowitz opened a16z Games in May 2022. Then she also sent $ 600 million to the budget of the gaming fund. In just under two years, a16z Games has invested in companies such as CCP Games, Roboto Games, Cult of the North, Rascal Games, Kaedim, Azra Games, Ready Player Me and many others.
