Bandai Namco invested $3 million in developers of three-dimensional avatars
Genies, which specializes in creating 3D avatars, has attracted an additional investment of $3 million. She received this amount from Bandai Namco.Investments are needed for Genies to launch in the Asian market, VentureBeat reports.
She recently opened an office in Tokyo, and Bandai Namco CEO Yasuo Miyakawa will now join the board of directors of the California-based company.
Genies technology not only allows you to create virtual avatars of users, but also to transfer them from one platform to another within a single ecosystem. The company itself calls it a “metaverse.”
“In the metaverse, as well as other virtual spaces and video streaming, users need avatars. This technology will only grow in the future, and Genies is a company that has established itself in this field by signing contracts with many celebrities,” Miyagawa commented on Bandai Namco’s decision to invest in Genies.
Genies was founded in 2017 and initially specialized in creating avatars for celebrities, collaborating with Justin Bieber, Rihanna and others.
