Sony
became the leader of the Russian market — the PlayStation 4 accounted for 75% of the total monetary volume. Microsoft is in second place, and Nintendo closes the top three. Also “M.Video-Eldorado” reported an increase in quantitative terms in the share of reissued retro consoles to 30%. The top five most popular consoles included: PlayStation 4 Slim, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One S, Nintendo Switch and Sega Magistr Titan 3. Console sales peaked at the end of March. This was influenced by the jump in the ruble exchange rate and the beginning of self-isolation. Also in Russia, consoles were actively bought in April and May as devices for home entertainment. At the same time, the average check decreased by 2% and amounted to 18.2 thousand rubles. Retailers expect new sales growth in December. The double-digit dynamics will continue, among other things, thanks to the release of the next generation of Sony and Microsoft consoles.
