Ubisoft plans New M&A Deals
Ubisoft is ready to expand further. The publisher is studying the M&A market and is looking for opportunities to take over gaming companies.
This was announced last Thursday by the CEO of the French publisher Yves Guillemot. “If only opportunities appear, we will take advantage of them,” he commented on the issue of acquisitions in a pandemic.
Guillemot also admitted that the M&A process has become complicated due to COVID-19, and Ubisoft should spend “a little time” solving new problems.
One of Ubisoft’s latest deals was the purchase of 75% of Kolibri Games, known for Idle Miner Tycoon. Due to the acquisition, the publisher has strengthened its idle portfolio.
Prior to that, he also invested in a number of developers (Ketchapp, 1492 Studios) in order to create a diverse line of mobile games. Ubisoft also owns 70% of the mobile publisher Green Panda Games since last year.
