Restructuring in Playful is aimed at changing the approach to development. As stated in the blog: “The studio will take a course for a more orderly production model.” In particular, Playful wants to distribute current and future projects among the remaining teams in a new way.
Note that in the fall, Playful raised $23 million from private investors. The total investment in the developer reached $48 million. At the same time, she announced plans to create games tailored for streaming.
Playful is the developer of the Lucky’s Tale platformer series. Initially, the studio specialized in the VR segment. When this market, in her own words, “became unstable,” she decided to develop games for more traditional platforms.
