Take a look, I started with this, it looks great,” the insider wrote.
Canadian Relic Entertainment has been owned by SEGA since 2013. That is, Microsoft will need to buy the studio from another major publisher. However, this would be very useful for SEGA: the company is waiting for huge losses this fiscal year.
According to the leak, the upcoming deal will be officially announced at the beginning of March on Inside Xbox. Note that Krobrille had previously predicted many Microsoft acquisitions quite accurately.
Relic Entertainment is the studio responsible for Homeworld, Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. It was bought by SEGA for $26.6 million, after the previous owner — THQ — went bankrupt.
Microsoft has been actively buying up AA studios since last year. Among its recent acquisitions are Obsidian and inXile.
